The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame welcomes Andrea Baker and Steve Wilkerson back to the Jazz Depot stage, accompanied by Spike Gore and Scott McQuade.
Andrea Baker is a critically acclaimed singer and multi-instrumentalist. Noted jazz critic, Leonard Feather, has compared Andrea to Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan; Jazz Improv Magazine called her a female Sinatra. Don Heckman of the LA Times proclaimed her a musician’s singer. Her many albums have likewise garnered rave reviews and have received nationwide airplay.
Steve Wilkerson, saxophone and clarinet virtuoso, began his professional career at age eleven when he joined his father’s band. He was awarded a full scholarship to the University of Tulsa where he was lead alto and jazz soloist for TU’s award-winning jazz ensemble. He also won the coveted Downbeat Combo Award, which led to three separate appearances at the Wichita Jazz Festivals....
