Roni Ben-hur/harvie S Trio With Sylvia Cuenca at Chez Hanny

Guitarist Roni Ben-Hur relocated from Israel to New York in 1985, where he was fortunate to be taken under the wing of veteran jazz pianist Barry Harris.

Roni's latest CD, "Introspection" (2018), finds him in league with bassist Harvie S. and drummer Tim Horner. Previous recordings featured Santi Debriano, Duduka Da Fonseca, Nilson Matta, Rufus Reid, John Hicks, Barry Harris, Charles Davis, Walter Booker, Gene Bertoncini, Ronnie Mathews, and Lewis Nash.

Bassist Harvie S is a veteran of the jazz and Latin music scenes. Known for his long standing duo project with jazz vocal legend Sheila Jordan, he has recorded and toured with the cream of the crop: Kenny Baron, Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz, Chet Baker, John Scofield, Steve Kuhn, James Weidman, Pat Martino, Mike Stern, and Paul Motian.

Drummer Sylvia Cuenca, originally from San Jose, now living in New York, has performed for 17 years with trumpet legend Clark Terry at venues such as the Village Vanguard and Blue Note in New York City. She toured internationally for 4 years with saxophonist Joe Henderson, including trio settings with Henderson and bassists Charlie Haden or George Mraz.
