Pianist/composer Carmen Staaf is the pianist and Musical Director for NEA Jazz Master Dee Dee Bridgewater. Her past major performances include the Playboy Jazz Festival in a two-piano setting with Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter, Jazz at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis, and the Kennedy Center alongside Kenny Barron and Fred Hersch. She has been heard at the Village Vanguard, Blue Note, SFJazz, Montreal Jazz Festival, and North Sea Jazz Festival.

Drummer Evan Hughes was born and raised in Berkeley. While at NYU, he studied with Joe Lovano, John Scofield, George Garzone, Brian Lynch, Ralph Alessi, Tony Moreno, Billy Drummond, and Dafnis Prieto.

He has participated in tours of Europe, Japan, Abu Dhabi and Costa Rica, and played at many prestigious New York City jazz clubs such as The Blue Note, The Jazz Standard, Smalls, and The Jazz Gallery.
