Nola New Year Gala With The Dukes Of Dixieland at John Wright Restaurant

On Thursday, December 28 at 6:00pm, the Pennsylvania Philharmonic will present the Dukes of Dixieland at the John Wright Restaurant and host a New Orleans themed New Years Gala to benefit the symphony’s music education programs.

In addition to an intimate performance by the Dukes of Dixieland, guests will be treated to a Cajun inspired menu created by the restaurant’s executive chef, Jim Switzenberg. Other highlights of the evening will include a bourbon tasting, open bar, and silent auction.

The Dukes bring traditional New Orleans Jazz into the 21st Century by combining elements of Zydeco, Pop, and Gospel Music. Their style ranges from Dr. John and Fats Domino, to Huey Smith and Louis Prima. With a history spanning over 40 years, and a repertoire of over 400 tunes, there will be something for everyone to enjoy at the concert....

With nearly 30 albums, 3 PBS television programs, and past performances with the Cincinnati, Cleveland, Chicago, National, New York Pops, and 29 other orchestras around the world, the Dukes of Dixieland are known as the official ambassadors of New Orleans.
