Dubbed as "A Night of Jazz and Hip-Hop Chamber Music for Strings", this event is the first of hopefully many more to come. The vision is to unite musicians and non-musicians together under the common purpose of presenting innovative and experimental outlets for creative string players. Better yet, it's two shows for the price of one!

Benjamin Sutin’s Big String Band is a new project, combining the forces of several rich musical traditions: the constantly evolving string quartet, chamber jazz, and improvisation. With a repertoire consisting primarily of Benjamin’s jazz, rock and world music inspired original compositions & arrangements, the group is striving to alter the role of string players in both chamber and improvised music. The ensemble will be gradually expanding into a big band for strings. In its current state the ensemble is led by Benjamin Sutin on 1st violin and completed by Zosha Warpeha on 2nd violin, Nathan Kamal on viola, Sam Quiggins on cello, Luca Rosenfeld on bass, Matt Davis on guitar on banjo, and Jesse Simpson on drums and percussion....
