Thursday, January 16th will mark the debut of new compositions from Lisa Hilton in a live performance with drummer and jazz icon Billy Hart along with bassist Ben Street. Hilton, who has "been compared to some of the best pianists in history" in The New Face of Jazz, has been creating a reputation for her impressionistic pianistic style as well as her compositions - "A sculptor of sounds," All About Jazz. She will be teaming up with Billy Hart, whose impressive bio includes stints with everyone from fellow icons Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner, Stan Getz, Miles Davis, and Joe Zawinul, to current leaders Mark Turner, Jean-Michel Pilc, and Ethan Iverson while teaching at Oberlin and NEC. Bassist Ben Street works with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Mark Turner, Danilo Perez among others. Expect exciting new music in an acoustically entrancing venue....
