More Info

With Articles of Incorporation issued by the State of Arkansas on 7 January 1992, the Arkansas Jazz Heritage Foundation (AJHF) is an all-volunteer, non-profit corporation dedicated to educating the general public about the historical significance of jazz in Arkansas. Membership is open to any adult interested in preserving, celebrating, and promoting jazz in Arkansas. The Foundation's most important activity is sponsoring and maintaining the Arkansas Jazz Hall of Fame, which it created in 1994. In addition to sponsoring occasional performances by distinguished jazz artists with connections to Arkansas, the AJHF engages in activities to support and cooperate with a number of “shared-mission” agencies/organizations (e.g., Art Porter Music Education, Central Arkansas Library System/Butler Center for Arkansas Studies/Arkansas Sounds Music Festival, Friends of Dreamland Ballroom, Friends of Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, Mosaic Templars Cultural Center/Department of Arkansas Heritage, Wildwood Park for the Performing Arts)
