Anna M. Sala is the founder of AMS Artists Management.
Born and raised in Miami, the daughter of Cuban emigre parents, Anna spent her formative years studying classical dance. Remarkably talented, the teenage Anna was invited to join the cast of Pennsylvania Ballet. After retiring from ballet, and while still in her twenties, Anna decided to pursue another love, music. In 1991, she joined the staff of an audio production company serving the broadcast, advertising and entertainment industries. Within two years, Anna established herself in several key facets of the firm's operations, including marketing and production.
In 1993, Anna accepted an offer to work with Mary Ann Topper of The Jazz Tree. It was under Mary Ann's mentoring that Anna's specific interest in artist management developed. The manager-in-training became an ardent believer in a then unknown Diana Krall. She acted as the singer's booking agent for several notable years and secured the chanteuse a record deal with GRP/Verve.
Other artists Anna promoted include such notable talents as Benny Green, Jim Hall, JJ Johnson, Geoffrey Keezer, Christian McBride and Joshua Redman.
Following a successful five year association with The Jazz Tree, Anna left to start her own booking and management company: Sala Creative Enterprises, which she later folded into a joint venture with colleague Louise Holland; together they formed ANLU Productions.
While at ANLU, Anna served as the booking agent for the ground breaking and Grammy winning Dave Holland Quintet. She also signed Tony nominated singer/ actress/ songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway, who remains a client to this day.
Accumulating a decade of experience, Anna decided to devote herself exclusively towards artist management. And thus was born AMS Artists, whose select roster includes Karrin Allyson, Ann Hampton Callaway, Ravi Coltrane, Robin Eubanks, Benny Green and Jim Hall.
While simultaneously championing her artists, Anna continued to further her education and recently graduated summa cum laude, from New York University, with a degree in International Studies and Political Science.
In 2000, she married trombonist Robin Eubanks. They currently reside in Teaneck, New Jersey with their daughter, Allegra.
