Radio Broadcaster, Contributor for All About Jazz, Free Lance writer and music reporter, Radio Producer and Jazz fan.
Esther Berlanga-Ryan grew up on Jazz. Her father, José Berlanga Cózar, a pioneer in his own right that brought Jazz to his little town of Úbeda in Spain, when nobody around him even knew what Jazz sounded like back in 1962, made sure that she would listen to the improvised music of John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong, Charles Mingus or Duke Ellington at a very young age...and waited for the seed to grow. And it did. EBR started her professional relationship with Jazz at the age of 15, when her first radio show started to air and she began to program Jazz sounds along side with the music of Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson or Bobby Brown. The audience loved the difference. The show remained on the air for five long years, until she decided it was time to move on to another station. That was just the beginning.

EBR has been blessed with many years of magic. When She was barely eighteen she was already interviewing Chick Corea and Eric Marienthal. At nineteen, Tete Montoliu, on an interview that sadly turned out to be his last one, since he died less than two months later. And then Pedro Iturralde, Uri Caine, Byron Landham, Donald Harrison, Alphonze Mouzon, Chano Dominguez, Jorge Pardo, Carles Benavent, Larry Coryell and so many others! In the middle of all that, Opera diva Ainhoa Arteta and Pop-Rock artists like Kool & the Gang.
More than fifteen years of Radio Broadcasting experience as a Producer, Music Director, Program Director and Radio Host and Co-Host, together with several years Press and TV Broadcasting and News Editing.

This bio would not be complete without EBR's current broadcasting adventure. Broadcaster, Program Director and Producer for the internet radio station Music from the Heart, through Live365.com. The #2 Vocal Jazz station on Live365. The right amount of Vocal Jazz, a taste of Blues and Jazz, a hint of Contemporary Urban, Hip Hop and R&B Music, a twist of elegant acoustic Pop-Rock and every other touch of magic in between.
More recently, she has been working on different interviews both for All About Jazz and for her radio show Music from the Heart. Among the artists that have already shared the microphone with her are Melody Gardot, Matt Cusson, Christian McBride, Terence Blanchard and Dee Dee Bridgewater.
