7:30 PM – 10:00 PM. Phoenix College Jazz Studies will present a Fred Sturm Memorial New Music Concert featuring student composers and the first annual D minor 9 competition. A panel of three judges will award a composition of the year to a deserving student. They will also choose an outstanding new music ensemble collaboration award for a new work starting with a D minor 9 chord. The Phoenix College Jazz Orchestra will perform original music by Duke Ellington, Fred Sturm and Ike Sturm. Admission: $10, $5 Students w/ ID (at the door)
