Maestro Kai Eckhardt will deliver a spirited show of world beat, funk and jazz. The Afro-German bassist-composer, who considers Oakland his home, is internationally recognized for his pioneering work in the John McLaughlin Trio and the super-jam-band Garaj Mahal. An international all-star ensemble will bring a brand new body of music to the Yoshi’s Oakland stage, infused with poetry and exquisite instrumental passages. Tonight’s concert is an exceptional showcase of talent, not to be missed by fans of daring new music, earth-shaking rhythms or an all-around terrific performance.
